On the whole, I would rate the Poco F1’s bull**** level as follows:

  • Initial setup: miserable
  • Ongoing problems: minor

    I’ve already unlocked my bootloader, have a custom recovery and know a bit on how to handle most of the problems the writer points out. I’m glad my model isn’t supported or else I might have scrapped my current FOSS setup and tried this! 😆

    I actually just did this on my old poco with plasma mobile. Pretty much unusable. WiFi disconnects after ~1mb down no idea why didn’t really dig into it much. Also the accelerometer doesn’t work which really makes itnott fun.

    I might try phosh or even DWM since I’ll have to manually adjust the screen orientation. Weekend side project maybe.

    The author of the article seems to have experienced many more issues than I did though. Installation was pretty straightforward except for some stupid mistakes on my part.
