I do a bunch a odd jobs for people that I get via asking around. The jobs don’t get protection from government or business, you might get my drift if you’ve ever been poor.

It happens a lot, like for 25% of jobs that I do for people that I get ripped off. I’ll be snow plowing someone’s lot every time it snows for all of winter, and they pay me immediately after each plowing. Once the weather starts improving, I do a job for them and then they ghost me without paying me. It happens occasionally where they don’t have the cash on hand (these jobs only are cash, no etransfer possible, cryptocurrency is a possibility if they had it) and they say they’ll pay me next time and they usually do, so when they say they’ll pay me next time and just ghost me, i have no advance warning.

Is there like any anarchist contract/tips I could consider using? For some people, I offer them a receipt/ask them for a receipt, but they don’t want any paper trial leading to them, so they refuse.

Or half in advance, rest payable on delivery, or the classic “tear this bill in half, you get the other half when you’re done” stunt, or …

In my experience, when doing undeclared jobs, never ever come work again if you haven’t been paid. At the end of work day, if the person doesn’t have the cash, take them along to the ATM. That’s the only way to get paid for sure, otherwise you end up like those undocumented comrades who can work two months or more for free for a fucking restaurant boss who’ll pay them “soon”.

Also remember to take revenge: there’s plenty of ways to do it. Personally, i would go with a stencil reading “I EMPLOY PEOPLE UNDECLARED AND REFUSE TO PAY THEM. I AM A WEALTHY MODERN SLAVER.” to spray paint on their front door or their car. Of course that’s only for bad faith people who are obviously avoiding to pay you, not for the poor person who had a problem with their bank account this week and can’t pay you.

This sounds like good general advice

This is what cabbies do over here. How do i do this if i don’t own a vehicle?

I like the energy, but not looking to go to prison most of the time :p

Maybe your client has one? Or maybe you can make it clear you’re coming back tomorrow in the morning and expect to get paid at that time?
