I almost had a mini-meltdown. I thought Tencent was acquiring Sumo Digital and I almost FREAKED. They made Outrun 2006: Coast 2 Coast and Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, two spectacular arcade racing games, which I really should replay soon.

Thankfully, Tencent seems to be acquiring the Sumo Group, which is another company entirely.

EDIT: I was very, very wrong. Sumo Digital is a part of the Sumo Group, along with Atomhawk, Pipeworks Studios and Secret Mode. In light of this, allow me to re-iterate my original reaction to this news:

FUCK.

Now that is money.

UK is going to be an off-shore platform for China, now that they are not in EU Expect a lot of Chinese acquisitions in the next years
