Sounds like the famous last words.
Not going to be the pessimist here but changing society fundamental has a long history of problems and personally I think it will take decades, not years to change things.
I hope at least we get fusion power running and get rid of coal, nuclear etc. That would already be a game changer. It would give us more time, more money for other projects and less burden + less consequences in case that there is an emergency.

True change sadly only happens when the generation in power dies or at least retires and is replaced by one with fresh ideas. Sadly both Boomer and Gen-x are not going to make any change and even the millenials are questionable in that regard. So we are looking at 20+ years which is too late to prevent the worst.
I tend to overall agree, we had enough time, what we did was to sit on a table, sign a useless paper in which we all agreed that climate will become a problem but nothing much changed because it is irrelevant on what you agree, only your actions count at the end of the day and we did not enough and some countries did nothing at all. This is a team effort thing and not a problem for just USA, EU and China. Also I do tend to give China most credit because they invest much more into wind, water etc.
However, one maybe should keep in mind that more drastic changes maybe force the government to make more drastically changes much faster if they are directly confronted with the outcome of their previous failures. The problem here is that by then it might be already too late.
We ALL need to be on the same page here and we all need to do something, it starts with little things, it is not useful to talk about the problems over and over again when we do not act at the end.
But as the video notes, even with the powerful interests arrayed against action, the last ten years have seen the start of real action. The worst scenarios are off the table, and now it’s up to the younger generations to keep pushing for a future where climate change is much more mild, or maybe even reversed.
