There were numerous factors that led to the revolution, but a key one was unfair taxation. The British parliament was in a position of power and thought that they could behave with impunity for further profits.

We all attack Spez, but he doesn’t own Reddit anymore. He is not acting alone. There are other rich and powerful people in the shadows backing his actions. They too thought they could behave with impunity.

Let what’s happened since June 12th be an inspiration for future netizens. Power to the people who left and to the mods who continue to resist.

    I compare it more to a revolution of ideas and thought … rather than a war between sides

    Someone invented the printing press … one guy built one giant printing press and everyone got lazy and thought they could rely on this one guy to make all their books … until the printing press guy got greedy and thought he could charge tons of money for printing books that everyone thought they could have freely or at least for cheap

    Other people decided to start building their own printing presses … the technology was already there … now there will be lots of printing presses everywhere … people get to have their books and read and write whatever they want
